AA 53-year-old lady from Verna succumbed to COVID-19 infection at Hospicio Hospital Margao where she was declared brought dead by the doctors, as per the police.
Investigation officer, PSI Shridhar Kamat said that upon the information received from Police Casualty Hospicio Hospital, Margao that the woman was brought dead at the Casualty ward at 1.30 am at September 9. Following an antigen test that was conducted, it was revealed that the deceased had tested positive for COVID-19. Kamat added that the body was wrapped and was sent for preservation at TB Mortuary. During the enquiry, it was revealed that the deceased was having loose motions and vomiting from September 5 and had also reportedly developed breathlessness in the evening on September 8. Therefore she was shifted to Hospicio Hospital Margao at midnight. Cause of death was certified as infection in a known diabetic patient.
