54th Edition of IFFI Kicks Off with Calls for Enhanced Delegate Experience and Talent Interaction

The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has commenced its 54th edition, ushering in a dynamic blend of anticipation and emotions among the film fraternity and attendees. As cinephiles converge on the festival venue, diverse sentiments and aspirations permeate the air.

Vishwamitra, a producer and director hailing from Bangalore, shared his nostalgia for the earlier, more straightforward times of IFFI. Having been a participant since 2008, he expressed a desire for the IFFI mobile app to be more delegate-friendly. Vishwamitra highlighted the need for improved functionality, especially concerning last-minute access to screenings. “The app should benefit delegates better, granting access to empty seats when a program is about to commence. Sometimes, technical glitches hinder us, and despite our efforts to attend, seats remain unoccupied. Previously, rush queues were in place, allowing those without tickets to enter after ticket holders, preventing vacant seats,” he elaborated.

Additionally, another delegate, Darshan Pal, suggested a proactive approach by IFFI organizers to foster interactions between established directors and budding talent. Pal advocated for the establishment of stalls and booths where directors could engage with aspiring actors and filmmakers, providing a platform for portfolio showcases and potential collaborations. “There should be dedicated spaces where directors can connect with emerging talent, exchange ideas, and consider their portfolios,” Pal emphasized.
