PANJIM: Over 50 percent of engineering aspirants of Mushtifund Aryaan Higher Secondary School and Aryaan Study Circle cleared the JEE-Mains 2018 to be able to appear in the JEE-Advanced 2018, slated to be held on May 20.
Director of the institute, Vyankatesh Prabhudesai, said that despite last minute changes in the examination pattern and significant reduction of cut-off marks, 56 out of 100 of their students are eligible to appear for the JEE-Advanced.
“About one month before the Mains, we were informed that students were not allowed to carry their own pens, pencils and erasers. They were provided only pens to answer the paper at their centres. Moreover, only four blank pages were attached with the main paper to scribble on,” Prabhudesai said on Wednesday.
He added that the cut off marks were reduced from 81 out of 360 marks last academic year to 71/360 this academic year.
For the first time in the institute’s history, a girl topped the exam in the State. The top three are Vaibhavi Gawas (246 marks) followed by Aaron Barreto (216 marks) and Aaman Rebello (213 marks).
