MAPUSA: In a fire incident reported on Anjuna Beach, six temporary sheds were gutted.
The Mapusa Fire Station and control room received a call at 2.25 am informing them about the fire.
Immediately, a team of Mapusa Fire Station comprising Salim Shaikh, Govind M Desai, Griresh Gawas, Amol Satardekar and Richard Trinadade rushed to the spot.
They found that around six temporary sheds selling clothes, embroidery, antiques, etc, were gutted. Since they were located on the beach, they were not able to take their vehicle.
The team later used tap water from a nearby area to bring the fire under control. It took almost an hour for the team to douse the fire completely.
The owners of the six sheds have claimed to have incurred a loss of around Rs 9 lakh. Mapusa Fire team is yet to ascertain the exact cause of fire.
