VASCO: In a tragic incident, a six-year-old girl was killed in car-scooter collision reported at Dabolim junction on Tuesday.
According to sources, Gita Chhandra, a resident of Dabolim was travelling on a scooter with her relatives when a car suddenly dashed against their scooter and later rammed into other parked cars.
Sources informed that the rider sustained grievous injuries and the woman, who was pillion riding, sustained minor injuries. Both were taken to Goa Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
Sources further informed that Gita who sustained injuries to her skull was taken to Chicalim Hospital but was later admitted to GMC where she breathed her last.
Car driver Premchand Maili, a resident of Baina, has been arrested by Vasco Police under Sections 279, 338 and 304 (A) of IPC.
