Panjim: Six COVID-19 patients succumbed to the virus in last 24 hours taking the total count of deaths to 262.
The Health bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) reveals that deceased hailed from Navelim, Ponda, Arambol, Fatorda and Curtorim.
One unidentified deceased victim aged 40, who had been brought dead at the North Goa district hospital had tested positive for COVID-19 in the post mortem.
Another 33-year-old man from Ponda, who was not suffering from any other disease, died due to COVID-19 induced bilateral pneumonia with ARDS.
The other four patients had co-morbid conditions.
The bulletin also stated that three deaths were reported at GMC and two at ESI Hospital.
Goa also recorded 621 positive cases and 281 recoveries on Wednesday. This takes the total Confirmed Cases to 22,251 while Active Cases stand at 4,833 and Recovery count is 17,156.
A total of 224 persons opted for Home Isolation while 183 suspects are kept in hospital isolation.
Out of 545 and 1006 bed capacity at COVID care centres in the North and South Goa districts respectively, 187 beds are vacant in North Goa while 518 are vacant in the South Goa.
