69th National Film Awards Celebrate Outstanding Achievements in Indian Cinema with Star-Studded Gala

The 69th National Film Awards for 2021 took place at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, where President Droupadi Murmu served as the chief guest, conferring honors to the deserving winners. The event was a star-studded affair with luminaries like Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Allu Arjun, and Karan Johar gracing the occasion.

Notable achievements included R Madhavan’s film “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” securing the Best Feature Film award, while Allu Arjun made history as the first Telugu actor to receive the Best Actor award for “Pushpa: The Rise.” The Best Actress award was jointly shared by Alia Bhatt for “Gangubai Kathiawadi” and Kriti Sanon for “Mimi.”

Renowned music composer MM Keeravani won the Best Music Direction (Background Music) award for “RRR,” which also clinched the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment award.

The National Film Awards, delayed due to the pandemic, celebrated outstanding achievements in Indian cinema. The event’s live stream was available via the Press Information Bureau’s social media channels. Key winners also included “The Kashmir Files” for the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration and Shoojit Sircar’s “Sardar Udham” in multiple categories, including Best Hindi Film and Best Cinematography.
