6th National Ranking Roller Skating Championship to Kick Off in Goa with Record Registrations

The Skating Association of Goa (SAG) has officially announced the eagerly anticipated 6th National Ranking Roller Skating Championship, set to take place from May 16th to May 19th, 2024. The announcement came during a press conference held at the SGPDA Ground in Margao, Goa.

President Milind Naik Dessai, also the joint secretary of the Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI), greeted esteemed officials from RSFI including Naresh Kumar Sharma, Secretary of RSFI, P.K. Singh, Vice President of RSFI and international referee, Kishore Bhandari, Vice President of RSFI, and Prem Sabastin, Vice President of RSFI. Also present were local dignitaries including Satish Shetye, Vice President of SAG, and Mario Gomes, Secretary of SAG.

Expressing gratitude towards RSFI for entrusting Goa with the opportunity to host this prestigious event, President Dessai revealed a staggering statistic: over 1250 skaters from across India have registered for the championship. This marks the highest registration count ever recorded for such an event in recent history, showcasing the growing popularity and enthusiasm for roller skating in the country.

The championship will commence with morning races starting at 6 am on May 16th, followed by the grand inaugural ceremony at 5 pm on the same day. The ceremony promises to be a distinguished affair with the honorable presence of Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, Minister for Sports Govind Gaude, Minister for Social Welfare Subhash Fal Dessai, Chairman of SGPDA and MLA of Vasco Krishna Daji Salkar, and local MLA Vijai Sardessai.

President Milind Dessai extended heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister and all dignitaries for their unwavering support and guidance in making this event possible. He also thanked RSFI for granting permission to host what is poised to be an exhilarating and memorable championship for roller skating enthusiasts nationwide.
