7 Dharma Productions crew members test positive

PANJIM: With Goa resuming film shootings despite the surge in COVID cases, seven crew members of Dharma Productions, Mumbai have tested positive for the infection.

Sources revealed that the seven members of filmmaker Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions have tested positive for the dreaded virus.

The Dharma Productions crew is staying at an inn in Panjim.

“The infected crew members have been sent to COVID Care Centre at Calangute,” informed a source.

Actresses Deepika Padukone and Ananya Pandey are also part of the crew, which is shooting in Goa.

The State-run Entertainment Society of Goa in August welcomed the filmmakers to the coastal State after the Centre announced the standard operating procedures for resuming shooting of films and TV programmes.

After the outbreak of COVID-19 in March, film shootings were suspended in Goa, which is a popular hub for Hindi, Marathi and South Indian film industries.

Films and other shootings have already been permitted in the State since last week of June, Entertainment Society of Goa’s (ESG) Chief Executive Officer Amit Satija said.
