PONDA: Ponda police on Wednesday arrested seven workers on charges of attacking a security guard working in the same company at the Madkaim Industrial Unit.
According to Ponda Police, the incident was reported on Tuesday night, when the security guard, Santosh Singh, did not allow a person to enter company premises.
Upset with the security guard, Govind Razzaq allegedly assaulted Singh with a glass bottle.
Singh ran to the canteen, but seven persons pounced on him and allegedly poured boiling liquid on the security guard.
Singh sustained head and burn injuries and was shifted to the GMC hospital.
Acting on a police complaint, Ponda police arrested Govind Razzaq, Dilip Razzaq, Anil Razzaq, D Singh, Sonu Singh, Hemant Gop and Vinay Khadia, all natives of Jharkhand.
