7 new COVID deaths

Panjim: A 72-year-old male resident of Mumbai was amongst the seven who succumbed to COVID-19 infection, with co-morbid conditions on Wednesday. The State’s mortality count now stands at 592. 

The total number of coronavirus active cases stood at 2,402 with 221 new cases being reported for the day, which also saw 196 patients being declared cured.

Till date, a total of 39,974 patients have been cured, of the total 42,968 confirmed cases. 

On Wednesday, of the total 7 deaths that were reported, three each died in Goa Medical College and ESI Hospital, Margao; whereas one death was reported in a private hospital in North Goa. 

The Mumbai patient was admitted in the private hospital on October 19. 

The other deceased includes a 70-year-old from Marcel; 65-year-old from Merces; 70-year-old from Dharbandora; 56-year-old from Vasco; 87- year-old from Navelim; and a 70-year-old from Mapusa.
