7 shops robbed

PANJIM: Seven shops in the Panjim municipal market were allegedly robbed by miscreants on Monday. The robbery comes less than a month after Goa Sahakar Bhandar and the office of the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, both located in the city market were looted of cash and electronic devices. 
On Monday, a shoe shop, sweet mart and garment stores were robbed while the hardisk of the CCTV installed in the market was also stolen. 
In the last incident, the same modus operandi was used to target the two premises. 
In the theft at the Goa Sahakar Bhandar, some persons broke open the shutter and door and stole a mobile phone, CCTV DVR and a hard drive worth Rs 16,000 besides Rs 3,421 in cash while Rs 9,350 in cash were stolen from the Office of the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies. 
Police sources said that the hardrives are being stolen to ensure the accused do not get caught.
