Vasco: In a shocking incidence on the last day of Vasco Saptah ferry, a 7-year-old boy found was dead in mysterious circumstances behind the Kossambe building on Monday early morning. According to the police the boy was found without pants in semi-nude condition.
Speaking to the media, DySP Sunita Sawant said that according to information, the boy from Mangoor had come with his mother to the Saptah fair and went missing from the stall which is being operated by his family during Saptah. The parents on Sunday evening lodged a missing complaint.
After receiving the complaint police started a search operation throughout the night in stalls put up for Saptah, CCTV footages were also checked in which the boy was found playing and moving around.
Sawant said that on Monday early morning the boy was found dead behind Kossambe building. Vasco.
Police led by DySP Sunita Sawant rushed to the site and investigated the crime scene wherein the police found a foothmark on an empty and open water tank of the building. Besides the police also found a short pant of the boy.
DySP Sawant said that Vasco police has registered case under Section 363 of IPC for kidnapping and Section 8 of Goa Childrens Act.
She further revealed that the dead body has been preserved for post mortem which will take place on Tuesday. It appears like the boy has died due to falling from the height, we are probing the matter.
“Around 25 CCTVs which are functional are being scrutinized and people are being interrogated for clues. Police are investigating the matter from all possible angles”, Sawant added.
