PANJIM: Directorate of Transport on Tuesday, through a mass transfer order, reshuffled almost 70 staff from different RTOs.
The order stated that the transfers are based on administrative grounds. In all 70 staffers have been transferred and reshuffled, including 44 lower division clerks and 26 upper division clerks. It is learnt that staff from the RTO was not transferred for many years and the department was also receiving the RTI applications in this regards.
RTOs were also facing allegations of corruption as the staff was retained at the particular office for longer than the prescribed time. The Department is yet to take call on the transfer of the officers at various Assistant Director of Transport offices.
