Dr Sawant further urged the labourers to reconsider their decision.
Meanwhile, the Margao Municipal Council has begun online registration of stranded migrants in its jurisdiction.
Registration of stranded migrant labourers in its jurisdiction due to lockdown will be accepted. Only those staying in Margao Municipal jurisdiction can fill the online forms.
Meanwhile, Carmona Panchayat got over 200 migrants registered.
A total of 215 applications were received from migrants by Carmona panchayat in two days.
The panchayat on the opening day of the registration received 140 applications as forms were made available to migrants. They were made to fill up the requisite data as per the format furnished by the BDO. This made the job easier as migrants did not have to wait in the queue.
Those who were not able to fill up the forms, necessary data was taken by the secretary. Rush was avoided and social distancing, wearing of masks was made compulsory.
The registration will continue on Monday and those migrants, who have missed out, have been urged to register.
