750 voters shifted from Ribandar ward to Panjim, complains councillor

PANJIM: The Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) on Tueday has sought an explanation from the Tiswadi Mamletdar over alleged shifting of 750 voters that include names of two sitting councillors, from Ribandar ward to Panjim within the jurisdiction of the City Corporation.

BJP-backed councillor Rupesh Halankar and wife Aarti filed a complaint alleging that as per the electoral roll, the names of 750 voters have been moved out from a ward in Ribandar to Panjim area.  However following the latest delimitation, one more ward tagged with Ribandar’s two existing wards.
