MARGAO: All eight accused arrested by Konkan railway police in connection with the major theft of Rs 4 crore gold ornaments have been granted bail by Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Canacona. The court ordered to release them on conditions of they furnishing bail bond of Rs15,000 each with one surety in like amount.
Konkan Railway Police have recovered 3 kg gold from them. Police had recovered one Chevrolet Cruze worth Rs2.5 lakh and one mobile phone worth Rs.30,000 from Sandeep Bhosale and one Maruti Ritz worth Rs 2.65 lakh and one mobile phone worth Rs 1.15 lakh from Akshay Rama Chinwal bought by both the accused persons from the ill-gotten money.
Ashok R. aged 55 years of Nagpada, Mumbai, Maharashtra working for Madhu Ornaments, Mumbai complained that his as Office Boy was carrying a trolley bag/suitcase containing freshly made gold ornaments (bangles) which were stolen by the accused while he was travelling in Train No.20924 Gandhidham Tirunelveli Humsafar Express from Panvel to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala at Canacona Railway Station.
