VASCO: Vasco police have booked at least eight persons for molestation and assault on a family at their residence in New Vaddem.
According to Vasco police, Basuraj Shashtri lodged a complaint that on Tuesday night, eight men trespassed into his compound and house and assaulted him, his mother, three sisters, cousin, and two friends. They also touched the complainants’ younger sister, thereby outraging her modesty, and threatened them with dire consequences.
Vasco police have booked a case under Sections 143, 144, 147, 148, 447, 452, 324, 354, 354(B) read with Section 149 of IPC and are investigating the same. They have arrested three of the accused – Vicky Khanapua, Sanjog Gawas and Sudharshan Harijan – so far and are trying to trace the others. The three arrested were released on bail on Wednesday evening. The other accused include Amar Gorela, Suraj Khanapua, Vinod, Sarfaraz, Nagendra, and Rupesh Naik.
