8 destinations apply for charter slots at Dabolim Int’l Airport

The requests for charter flight slots have been received from Tel Aviv, Kuala Lumpur, Bahrain, Russia, Almati, Gatwick, Manchester and Muscat and the process of approving them is in the pipeline.

VASCO: The Dabolim International Airport has received requests for charter flight slots from eight destinations, Airport Director S V T Dhanamjaya Rao said on Tuesday. Rao told reporters that the Dabolim Airport will continue to operate even after the commissioning of the Mopa international airport. He said there will be no segregation of domestic flights landing at Dabolim and international flights at Mopa. “It will depend on the choices of the passengers and flight operators,” he reiterated.

The requests for charter flight slots have been received from Tel Aviv, Kuala Lumpur, Bahrain, Russia, Almati, Gatwick, Manchester and Muscat and the process of approving them is in the pipeline. The slots have been applied for by airline operators like Scat Air, Rosiya, Aeroflot, Gulf Air and Arkia airlines. Besides the charter flights, there have also been requests to operate regular international flights from Dabolim Airport to London, Dubai, Muscat and Sharjah, he added.
