PANJIM: Goa’s COVID-19 death toll on Sunday breached the 500-mark and touched 507 with eight new fatalities.
The tally of confirmed cases touched 38,366 as 432 new cases of infections were reported.
Also, at 86.54 per cent recovery rate, a total of 33,203 people have recovered so far. Another 426 patients were declared cured on Sunday.
All the eight which included five male patients, who succumbed to the deadly infection, were suffering from co-morbid conditions.
Seven lost their lives while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), while another died in Asilo hospital, Mapusa.
The victims include 74-year-old male from Ponda, 80-year-old female from Camurlim, 70-year-old woman from Boca-De-Vaca, Panjim, 68-year-old man from Pernem, 80-year-old male from Ponda, 49-year-old man from Agassaim, 71-year-old male from Sanquelim and 58-year-old female from Mapusa.
As per the figures, 18,608 people opted for home isolation while, 10,623 were hospitalised.
