8 held by Valpoi cops for offences

VALPOI, MAY 10
Valpoi police arrested six persons from Vaigane, Sattari, on charges of assaulting a woman over family dispute.
According to police, the incident occurred on Thursday when the woman was fetching more water from the water tap belonging to a joint family of Gaonkar of Vaigane.
The woman was rushed to Community Health Centre, Valpoi. The six persons were later released on bail.
In another incident, Valpoi police arrested two persons on charges of killing two buffaloes and a calf at Dhave, Sattari, on Friday.
 They duo were later released on bail.
According to PSI Narayan Parwar, the accused killed the animals, belonging to Bandekar family, by serving poison through jackfruits.
Police was assisted by doctors of veterinary department in investigating the matter.
