PANJIM: In a raid on a gambling den in Siolim, the Crime Branch on Sunday arrested eight persons and recovered amount of Rs 46,500.
The Crime Branch received information on “andar bahar” gambling game at Tar – Siolim.
Accordingly, in the wee hours of Sunday, a team was formed under the leadership of PI Jivba Dalvi. The den was raided and eight persons were arrested.
An FIR under Section 11(2) of the Goa Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act has been registered against the accused.
Further investigation is in progress.
