MAPUSA: Anjuna police found the body of 8-year-old Sahil Nagesh Salgaonkar from Oxel Bhati, Siolim who had gone missing on February 14.
The parents of the Nagesh had filed a missing complaint at the Anjuna Police station the same day after they discovered that he was missing from the house.
Early on Saturday morning Anjuna police received a call informing that a body of a boy is floating in the river down the Chopdem-Siolim bridge. A team of Anjuna police immediately rushed to the spot and attached the body. While conducting a panchanama, it was revealed that the body was of Nagesh, who went missing on Feb 14.
Nagesh Salgaonkar had health related problems, said the police and added that the eight-year-old boy had gone missing earlier but had returned home.
The cause of death was due to drowning after an autopsy report, police officials informed. Anjuna police are further investigating the case.
