9 held for unlawful assembly

Vasco police on Saturday arrested nine youth for allegedly unlawful assembly and criminal conspiracy in a group-related clash at New Vaddem on Friday night.
According Vasco police, nine youth in their twenties allegedly assembled at New Vaddem and Khariwado with wickets, knives, chain, iron rod and other deadly weapons for a group clash.
Police identified the arrested youth as Sayed Akif Hasan, Malik Shaikh, Mohamod Salim, Shaikh Ashraf, Mohamod Shaikh, Salam Shaikh, Dadman Madar, Amit N and Santan C, mostly from Khariwado and New Vaddem.
Police said that the youth had gathered at two different places due to pervious enmity on a minor issue and an alert resident found their presence suspicious at New Vaddem and notified the police.
Vasco police has registered an offence under Sections 143, 144, 149, 511, 12 (b) r/w 149 IPC and PSI Vaibav is further investigating the case.
