PANJIM: Dean of Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim Dr Shivanand Bandekar, who is also the chairman of the expert committee on the third wave, said the government’s infrastructure is nearly complete in anticipation of the third wave.
Bandekar said 95 per cent of infrastructure is ready in the State and manpower is being trained to handle the surge in infections, if such a situation arises. While pointing out that the third wave is likely to affect children, he clarified that one can’t say that it will affect children alone.
The Dean also expressed concern over the influx of tourists in the State against the backdrop of Goa just recovering now from the devastating second wave.
