PANJIM: A total of 9,651 artisans from the State received benefits from the Central government schemes under the Ministry of Textiles.
These schemes for the welfare development of artisans are implemented by the Handicrafts Development Commissioner through the National Handicraft Development Programme and the Comprehensive Handicrafts Cluster Development Scheme to emphasise integrated approach for development of handicraft in a holistic manner and provide sustainable livelihood opportunities to the artisans.
A total of 26.79 lakh artisans in India have received benefits under the Pahchan initiative.
