A cake walk for BJP in Bardez

Wins Siolim, Anjuna, Aldona, Sirsaim, Socorro, Reis Magos and Calangute ZP seats

BARDEZ: Seven BJP candidates won Zilla Parishad seats in Bardez Taluka while two seats were won by Independent candidates.

Excluding Colvale and Penha de Franca, seven seats in Bardez including Siolim, Anjuna, Aldona, Sirsaim, Socorro, Reis Magos and Calangute were won by the BJP candidates. Also seven candidates won the ZP polls for the second time while two candidates are first time winners.

Socorro and Colvale got new ZP member out of which one is BJP and second one is Independent, who is wife of former Thivim MLA Kiran Kandolkar while Kartik Kudnekar backed the BJP seat in Socorro, while in other constituencies, candidates won the ZP seat for second term which includes Siolim, Anjuna, Sirsaim, Aldona, Reis Magos and Calangute.

Meanwhile, the BJP candidate in Calangute Dattaprasad Dabholkar secured 5,043 votes and defeated Congress candidate Laurenco Silveira with margin of 428 votes. Dabholkar has been elected second time as ZP Member. Similarly, Rupesh Naik has been elected second time as ZP member of Reis Magos by securing 4,708 votes and highest margin of 3,060 and defeated Congress Candidate Hemant Malvankar and Independent candidate Pragati Pednekar. Niharika Mandrekar, BJP candidate took 4,428 votes in Anjuna and Defeated Congress candidate Sangita Lingudkar. Similarly, Sanisha Toraskar won the BJP seat with the margin of 168 votes. Sanisha Toraskar got 3788 votes followed by Inez Lois Dias and Sushmita Pednekar.

In Socorro, BJP candidate Kartik Kudnekar was elected for the first time as ZP member with a margin of 1,514 and defeated then ZP member Vaishali Satardekar. Kartik Kudnekar got 5,319 votes while Vaishali Satardekar took 4,805 votes.

Penha de Franca elected independent candidate Kavita Gupesh Naik as their ZP member with a margin of 1,888 votes. Kavita secured 4,543 votes while Radhika Sawant took 2,865 votes. Aldona once again elected Manisha Naik as their ZP member with a margin of 1,176 votes by defeating Congress candidate Ruby Halarnkar, who got 2,504 votes and Smita shet of AAP.

Sirsaim people also elected BJP candidate Diksha Kanolkar by giving lead of 909 votes. Diksha Kanolkar took 2,966 votes by defeating Anant Temkar 2046 and Congress candidate 1,572.
