PANJIM: The ex-Assistant Solicitor General of India and ex-Advocate General of Goa Carlos Ferreira took everyone by surprise as he defeated the two-time MLA Glen Ticlo.
Ferreira, who has a long association with the Congress, was pitched against BJP’s Ticlo and others despite being a first timer in active politics. He was Congress’ winnable candidate which is why the party high command nominated him in BJP’s bastion.
“This victory is the victory of the people of Aldona, the victory of the people of Goa… and I want to say one thing that this is good over evil. I thank everyone who stood by me to give me this victory and defeat a two time MLA of the ruling government,” Advocate Ferreira told the media after the results declared him victorious from Aldona.
