The AAI said the bio-digester plant will help generate electricity by treating waste gathered from panchayats of Chicalim, Chicolna, Sancoale, Hollant and AAI.

“The bio-digester plant will have four Material Recovery Facility (MRF) sheds, along with bailing machine, forklifts and dustbins to help curb the garbage menace around @aaigoaairport,” the AAI posted.

It said that with the support of the Goa Waste Management Corporation, #AAI will manage and execute the project.

The aircraft movement around the airport have been affected due to several bird hits in the recent past and the move will certainly help passengers fly in peace.
