PANJIM: AAP Goa Convener Rahul Mhambre lambasted the BJP government for selling out Goa and Goan interests.
He recalled that the public hearing held on CZMP was a mere farce as the venue was changed at the last minute and most of the public were not allowed to participate even after registering themselves in the so called public hearing and were made to sit outside by the roadside.
Rahul Mhambre who had attended the hearing in Panjim had stated the following in the proceedings, “These proceedings are a drama, and the officers sitting on the podium should be ashamed of themselves. Despite the notification stating that registration will open at 11 am there was no counter and you used that as an excuse to not allow people inside, even the old! It is the right of every Goan to be heard! We demand that these plans have to go and be approved at the village level!”
He said the government should now send the plan to each and every concerned village and get it approved by the villagers and only then incorporate it in the State CZMP failing which he said it will be just yet another farce played by the government.
He appealed to all village panchayats to demand that the coastal zone management plan be sent to them for their scrutiny and be approved only after the villages approve it.
This Govt has completely collapsed and is now being working on directions of the Court on covid front and on Green Tribunal on environmental issues said Mhambre.
