AAP Goa releases its manifesto

MARGAO:  Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)  released its manifesto, highlighting its avowed objectives to Goa’s environment, education, economy, culture, heritage and governance.  
AAP Convenor and LS candidate Elvis Gomes said that if the environment of Goa was not protected, then the Goa that people know of, would cease to exist. 
“Our mission is to establish Swaraj in Goa, power to the people, decentralized from a central leadership encouraging participation of every Goan in governance,” read the manifesto.   AAP stated that they would focus on establishing  world -class education infrastructure revamping Goa’s primary, secondary, HSS and University education. 
He highlighted tourism, protection of interests of the mining dependent workers and others as key issues.  Gomes said AAP would promote healthcare systems on the lines of work done by the Delhi AAP Government.
AAP also released a separate manifesto for women, youth and senior citizens. AAP has also laid emphasis on promotion of sports.
Gomes also said AAP would bat for UNESCO recognition of Goa as living heritage.  The manifesto included protection of commuinidade land and door step delivery of services and also digitisation of birth records amongst other initiatives.
“People’s conferences will be held periodically to assess performance of the work undertaken and its progress and to invite constant dialogue with the constituents,” said Gomes, adding that AAP would empower local bodies like Zilla parishads and panchayats.
