AAP launches online workshop on agriculture and horticulture

MARGAO: Aam Aadmi Party launched its first online workshop on agriculture and horticulture evoking a good response from the netizens who are interested in farming. 

AAP’s South Goa Convenor Rodney Almeida, a farmer by profession, shared inputs in cultivation of vegetables by also demonstrating the use of pots for those dwelling in apartments. Simple soil conditioning methods, use of manure, water was explained to the beginners. 

He was assisted by AAP Youth Cell members Hanzel and Aishwarya Fernandes. 

Rodney said that a little bit of effort could make every household sufficient with vegetables which were free from pesticides and other chemicals used in growing them. 

“At a time when COVID-19 pandemic has kept the people indoors, AAP thought of getting them to grow rice, vegetables and flowers which if done properly, could reduce dependence on markets and help revive the old traditions. The younger generations need an exposure to this,” said Almeida informing that the series will continue to share information in detail and also help people see live demonstrations.
