AAP MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas on Wednesday met Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and submitted a memorandum seeking an extension of permitted music timings for wedding functions across the state.
In the memorandum, the MLA highlighted the difficulties faced by families and event organisers due to the existing restrictions and urged the government to allow extended timings, especially for wedding celebrations.
Capt. Venzy also requested the Chief Minister to grant at least 60 days for the public to submit suggestions and objections on the draft Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) before conducting the public hearing. He said the additional time would ensure wider public participation and a better understanding of the draft plan, which has significant implications for coastal communities.
The MLA stressed that both demands were in public interest and sought the Chief Minister’s intervention to address the concerns of citizens and stakeholders.
