AAP national convenor Kejriwal galvanises volunteers

Emphasises fresh faces, full-time commitment for Goa’s political landscape

PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday emphasised party’s identity with fresh faces and energy. He urged volunteers not to concentrate on other party leaders but to identify and promote new faces for AAP, who command respect and trust from the public.

Addressing party’s volunteers at Dona Paula, Kejriwal highlighted examples like Adv Amit Palekar, Valmiki Naik, Adv Surel Tilve, Capt Venzy Viegas, Eng Cruz Silva, and Cecile Rodrigues and underscored that AAP leaders were not poached from other parties. He pointed out that 80 MLAs in the Punjab government under AAP are also fresh faces, reinforcing the party’s commitment to cultivating new talent.

Kejriwal stressed that politics is a full-time commitment, dismissing part-time strategies. Recognizing a political vacuum in Goa, he encouraged AAP leaders and volunteers to work tirelessly to provide a viable alternative. He urged volunteers to witness the transformative work in Benaulim and Velim constituencies by AAP MLAs before visiting Delhi and Punjab to observe developmental initiatives.

Emphasising the exemplary performance of Goa’s AAP MLAs, Kejriwal urged volunteers to showcase their work to people in other constituencies. He directed volunteers to communicate about the initiatives taken by his government in Delhi and the Punjab government during interactions with the public.

Kejriwal advised volunteers to integrate into the daily lives of the people, urging them to support individuals during challenging times, building emotional connections. He reiterated that politics is fundamentally about serving people and stressed the importance of AAP leaders being an integral part of the common people’s lives.

Concluding the meeting, Kejriwal set an ambitious goal, stating that AAP should form the next government in Goa during the 2027 Assembly elections.

Earlier, speaking at Benaulim, Kejriwal disclosed that talks are on for seat sharing in Goa with I.N.D.I.A. alliance partners. He opined that the BJP is getting votes due to a vacuum in the State.

On the other hand, Benaulim MLA VenzyViegas said that the party has given two names for the South Goa Parliamentary seat to the national convenor while no names have come from the INDIA alliance partners yet. He hoped that AAP will get one of the seats in Goa.
