PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday lambasted at the Congress president Girish Chodankar for falsely accusing it of being the B team of BJP and for misguiding the people of Goa.

Briefing media persons, AAP convenor Rahul Mhambre said “It is ludicrous that the Congress accuses AAP of being the B team of BJP”. He claimed that the Congress and BJP are already in an undeclared alliance ‘Congress Janata Party’.

“The Congress is like the fuel which the BJP uses to run the party. Whenever the BJP is short of MLAs they look towards Congress to purchase MLAs. This is a case not just in Goa but throughout India be it Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka or Manipur,” Mhambre charged.

“Girish himself said in an interview that the Congress is open for an alliance with the AAP. It is only after the AAP outrightly rejected the alliance offer, Girish started hurling baseless allegations at AAP. It is a clear case of sour grapes,” he claimed.

Mhambre pointed out to the hypocrisy of the Congress where sons of two Congress MLAs are in the BJP.   “Congress has been claiming that they are against the IIT project in Melauli than why is the senior-most leader of the Congress Pratapsingh Rane silent on it? It is only because his son, who is in the BJP, is vehemently supporting it,” he alleged.

He claimed that the Congress is not united within the party as the leaders are making contradictory statements.

“In the morning, Girish makes a statement that alliance with Goa Forward is out of question while, within a couple of hours Digambar Kamat says he is willing for an alliance with Goa Forward. The Congress is only behaving like a headless chicken,” Mhambre charged.

Mhambre said, “AAP is the only credible opposition and is the A team of Goa unlike the ‘Congress Janata Party’ which is an undeclared but blatant alliance between the BJP and the Congress.”

Mhambre claimed that AAP is the only party that is capable of decimating both, the Congress and the BJP just like how it did in Delhi.
