PANJIM: AAP slammed the government for providing ferries to transport diesel and other provisions to casino vessels.
Reacting to Herald report, AAP said it was another display of the government’s deep love for casinos even as the common man was losing patience over erratic ferry services.
Convenor Elvis Gomes, who has been CoP in the past, said huge sums of tax payers money was spent by the government on the welfare of what he called junk vessels liberally allowed to operate as casinos.
“All available jetties are converted into casino operations offices and lounges. Departments of Fisheries and Ports buildings are dazzling with neon lights without any auction or codal formalities. These departments have lost their original identity and also their address. More casinos are on the way,” Gomes said.
Gomes said, “The vessels are allowed to remain stationery and pose a security threat and certainly cannot meet ISPS security requirements.”
