Addressing the media, AAP volunteer Satish Sonak said the party is based on Gandhiji’s principles of non violence and no corruption and that AAP will rise and fight against casinos in Goa if they are voted to power in the 2017 Goa Assembly elections.
“BJP has completely failed to control and put a ban on the casinos in Goa. The casinos act as a good economy only for the BJP politicians and not for the State as a whole. There should be surgical strikes on casinos and gambling in Goa,” Sonak said.
Stating that BJP has failed to act against casino advertising on billboards along roads and highways, he termed it indecent as a woman is portrayed in an insulting and defaming manner in them.
He said that according to Section 294 (a) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) casino advertising in public places is an offence.
He said the AAP programme ‘Goa Dialogue’ that has taken them house to house with a written questionnaire, found that people don’t want casinos.
On Sunday, Gandhi Jayanti, AAP will organize a beach cleaning drive at Miramar followed by a hunger strike near the Gandhi statue in Old Goa, Sonak said.
