MARGAO: GPCC president Luizinho Faleiro has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Goa of using tactics to divide secular votes by concentrating in Congress areas.
Speaking at the Benaulim Block Congress workers’ meeting at Benaulim, he said: “The actions of AAP in the State are clear as the party wants to target Congress-led areas by dividing the secular votes in these areas”.
Taking a dig at government, Luizinho alleged that the BJP government is giving a political angle to the Medium of Instruction issue in Goa and criticised the government for failing to pass the bill in the Assembly.
He also said that the choice of language for their children is a fundamental right of the parents and it should be vested on to them without any prejudice.
Speaking at a meeting at Cavelossim, he said, “Goans have no faith and confidence left in this government and due to this they are opting for Portuguese passports for a better and secure future”.
The GPCC president called upon the people to retain “Goenkarponn” in Goa and urged them to shun intolerance which has been going on across the country.
Benaulim block president Edwin Barreto and others attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Benaulim Block Congress meeting resolved to suggest block president Edwin Barreto to be nominated for the Congress ticket in Benaulim. The meeting was attended by a large number of Benaulim Congress members.
Barreto’s name was proposed and seconded by members.
