PANJIM: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa has thrown up a fresh challenge for Power Minister Nilesh Cabral to debate on ‘any subject’ regarding governance in the State. The Opposition party has been taking a dig at Cabral for dodging debate on electricity with its Delhi MLA Raghav Chadha.

“Goa’s power minister Nilesh Cabral hid when Chadha had already intimated in advance for a debate on electricity on November 17. Everyone searched for him. On that night, Cabral emerged to only speak lies and make false accusations against AAP,” AAP Goa leader Valmiki Naik said while addressing a press conference in Panjim, on Thursday.

Stating that Cabral was “scared” of debating on the topic, Naik threw up a fresh challenge for Cabral.

“I am challenging you (Cabral) to debate with me, a common man. I will be present any time and any day fixed for the debate on any subject regarding governance in Goa. Let us compare the AAP model and BJP’s model in Goa,” Naik said.

AAP leader also claimed that social welfare schemes for various sections of people in Delhi are far better than the once in Goa.

“Cabral has lied that there are no welfare schemes in Delhi. In fact, Delhi has implemented schemes for senior citizens besides annual pilgrim organised for them, for the women including free public transport for girls/women, free water supply till 20,000 litres, etc,” he added.

The Arvind Kejriwal-led party also took a potshot at BJP in Goa for making personal attacks and ‘spreading lies’ about AAP through social media.
