AAP urges Goans to elect honest candidates

MARGAO: Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP from Delhi Sanjay Singh said Goans faced with the mining imbroglio, rampant corruption and total lack of governance would do well to elect honest and upright candidates fielded by his party at the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
Briefing media persons he said that Goans faced with all the various problem should opt for AAP that has provided a good and people oriented government in Delhi where water is supplied free of cost, power tariff is reduced by half and the health sector and public education has been totally revolutionized.
“Medicines are being provided free to people of Delhi and farmers are being given Rs. 50,000 per hectare of land to promote agriculture,” he said besides pointing out that nearly Rs. 3000 crore has been saved on the construction of five flyovers by the AAP government.
He said contrary to the promise made by Narendra Modi of depositing Rs. 15 lakhs in each accont by recovering the black money taken away from India, he said even the savings that were there in the banks have been taken away by the BJP government who by demonitisation engulfed the savings the women had made over the years.
“Instead of giving tax relief, the government introduced GST that has crippled the traders,” he said while accusing the government of promoting non issues like temple or Masjid as election issues instead of discussing real valid issues like governance and matter concerning people.
“Goa’s chief minister had promised to recover Rs. 35 crore that he said was looted from the treasury by the mine owners but till date not even Rs. 3.5 have been recovered even though a fine of Rs. 3.5 crore was levied,” he said.
Sanjay Singh asked why the CRPF jawans were not air lifted as asked by the SP and instead made to travel in the convoy that resulted in so many of them being killed. “The government has to answer why no aircrafts were provided to the jawans when aircrafts are readily provided to ministers and even MLAs,” he said.
He expressed surprise that Prime Minister Narendra Modi while spreading hatred and violence in India goes to foreign countries to receive peace awards and demanded that Pakistan be given a befitting reply for the atrocities it perpetuates against the Indian armed forces.
