AAP’s first ‘Mohalla Clinic’ opened at Benaulim

MARGAO: In an important development, Benaulim MLA Captain Venzy Viegas launched a ‘Good Health’ clinic, the first such clinic in the State, on the lines of the world-famous ‘Mohalla Clinic’ model of the AAP government in Delhi and Punjab.

Capt Viegas said that this is probably the first such public clinic in the State with free consultation and medicines that has been opened without any government funding or scheme.

“This was a promise made by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) during its election campaign, and I have fulfilled it first in Benaulim. With such initiatives getting huge positive response, it is only a matter of time that people across Goa choose the AAP model of governance,” he said.

Inaugurating the clinic on National Doctor’s Day, Capt Viegas felicitated and thanked the doctors who will be part of the clinic, including Dr Avinash Anand (Onco and laparoscopic surgeon), Dr VikasDadhich (orthopaedic surgeon) and Dr Ralph Araujo (medical manager).

AAP leader Valmiki Naik praised Capt Venzy’s efforts for setting up the clinic, stating that it was the first such clinic in the State and appealed to people of Benaulim to make optimum use of it.
