CUNCOLIM: The Zhaadu yatra of Aam Aadmi Party culminated in the constituency of its chief ministerial candidate Elvis Gomes. The end of a week-long yatra was marked by a public meeting in Cuncolim town. The Zhadu Yatra was launched by AAP as part of its poll campaign.
The yatra led by Gomes had started off in Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar’s Mandrem legislative assembly constituency. The yatra travelled through all the 40 constituencies in the State. Gomes along with Manish Sisodia were present at the culmination of the rally. The candidates of other constituencies attended the concluding rally. A sizable number of police were also posted at the meeting venue.
Addressing the meeting, Elvis Gomes said, “The Zhaadu Yatra which begun in Mandrem constituency has got so much traction for the AAP in Goa that we are now sure that the people are going to sweep out the corrupt politics of the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party. As we came down South, we kept gathering honest people who want to have change in Goa.”
Manish Sisodia said, “The rally is aimed at creating awareness about issues related to corruption and malgovernance. AAP has created a 95 point manifesto and it is going for election with a promise to fulfill every bit of it.” He said that the work of the party would speak for itself after the election.
