Margao Police have successfully arrested two individuals, Nikita Pandey and Rajguru, in Sawantwadi, in connection with the abduction and subsequent abandonment of two children. The incident unfolded last night when Manu Pandey, the father of the abandoned children, along with his other wife Niki and her live-in partner Rajguru, were apprehended by law enforcement authorities.
The case came to light last month when two children were discovered abandoned at different locations in Margao. The father, Manu Pandey, who works in Maharashtra, is reportedly in critical condition and has been admitted to the South Goa District Hospital.
The arrested trio is now facing charges related to child abandonment, as well as allegations of confiscating the belongings and mobile phone of a woman from Madhya Pradesh who claims to be the biological mother of the abandoned children. The woman arrived in Goa in search of her kids and provided crucial information to the police.
According to the mother’s account, her husband, Manu Pandey, along with his other wife and her partner, disembarked from a train from Bihar with the children, unbeknownst to her. The woman alleges that the trio took away all her possessions, including her mobile phone, preventing her from seeking assistance.
The police acted swiftly upon receiving this information, leading to the arrests of Manu Pandey, Niki, and Rajguru. The accused will now face legal proceedings for their involvement in the children abandoning case, along with potential charges related to theft and obstruction of justice.
Auda Viegas of One Stop Centre South Goa, has expressed gratitude towards the relentless efforts of the South Goa police in solving the mystery surrounding the two abandoned children discovered in Margao. Viegas also commended the Konkan Railway Police for actively engaging in such cases and giving them priority.
Furthermore, she confirmed that the woman claiming to be the children’s mother has been positively identified as the legitimate parent. Despite this positive development, Viegas noted a setback as the bag containing essential documents and valuable belongings is currently missing. Consequently, the documentation process is expected to encounter delays.
Viegas assured that once the missing documents are located and verified, the process of uniting the children with their mother will be promptly initiated. She emphasized the importance of meticulous documentation for ensuring a smooth and lawful reunification, underscoring the dedication of the authorities involved in resolving this challenging case.
