MARGAO: The gram sabha of Chinchinim – Deussua Panchayat was marked by chaos from the word go over the issue of failure to re-convene the adjourned gram sabha before Sarpanch Constancio Fernandes abruptly adjourning the meeting.
Even before the agenda could be taken up for discussion, panch member John Bedo Pereira, who refused to share the dais with sarpanch raised the issue and questioned sarpanch how he could call for a fresh gram sabha when the earlier gram sabha held on June 2, had been adjourned without completing the business and why the same had not been re-convened. When the sarpanch refused to reply, other gram sabha members joined in and objected. The sarpanch then read the minutes of the precious gram sabha as the members did not let the secretary do it and there was more commotion and the sarpanch abruptly adjourned the gram sabha and left the dais along with panchas present.
