PANJIM: The State Electricity Department has issued show cause notice to two of its line helper staff for allegedly remaining absent without authorization from duties for prolonged period of time.
Line Helper Shashank Naik has been absent from duties since September 23, 2020, till date while Line Helper Wilson Fernandes stayed away from the workplace since November 1, 2019, till date.
The notices were issued as the department was unable to locate their whereabouts. They also have been warned that the department will proceed with the matter ex-parte if no reply is received from them within stipulated time.
Meanwhile, speaking to O Heraldo, Chief Electrical Engineer Stephen Fernandes said that the notices were issued as it was found that many employees were remaining absent for long period of time without giving proper notice.
”Notices are being issued as some do not come to office for a long period. The effort is to streamline the administration. It they are not interested then someone else can be appointed in their place or some one can be promoted,” Fernandes said.
