PANJIM: Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) filed an indictment against Police Sub Inspector Vilesh Durbhatkar and Head Constable Shyamsunder Gawas in a 2008 bribery case of Valpoi Police Station.
ACB has submitted a 240-page charge sheet in special court of North Goa charging the officers under Section 7, 13 (1) (d) read with 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and Section 34 of IPC.
ACB has recorded the statements of 42 witnesses in the case where the PSI and HC were caught at Valpoi Police Station while accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 from a local person.
ACB on November 14, 2008 had trapped the duo.
following a complaint form a local that the officers were demanding a bribe to release the driving license which was confiscated a week earlier.
