ACB records Malvankar’s voice samples

To send them for forensic analysis within a week

PANJIM: Anti-Corruption Branch of the Vigilance Department has recorded the voice samples of Dilip Malvankar, who was arrested while accepting a bribe in August.
ACB officials said that the recording samples and previously recorded voice clips over telephone will be sent for forensic analysis within the week. The samples, ACB said, are crucial to establish the case against Malvankar.
Malvankar, brother-in-law of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar is employed with GIDC as a field manager and was arrested on August 19 while accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh towards allotment of an industrial plot to a Jaipur-based medicine manufacturing company.
The complaint was lodged by the company officials after Malvankar harassed them while allotting the industrial plot. The officer was allegedly creating hurdles for the firm to take possession of the plot though the allotment had been done in 2012.
Malvankar is presently under suspension.
