An ACB officer said that the if there is no strong evidence against secretary to file a charge sheet a report will be sent to the Directorate of Panchayat if any discrepancies are found during the investigation.
An officer said that the complainant alleged that the deputy sarpanch had said that part of the bribe amount would go to the secretary. He said there is no evidence against the secretary till now.
On March 26, Keni was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 6000 from Mukundraj Govind Mudras in the office of the secretary. Keni is presently out on bail and has been charged under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act.
Mudras had paid the bribe for obtaining a trade licence for his hair cutting salon, which he started without licence.
from local panchayat.
Mudras had started a hair cutting salon without obtaining a trade licence from local panchayat. A notice was issued to which he submitted an application and the required documents for issue of the trade license and transfer of the shop. The bribe amount was later negotiated and reduced to Rs 6,000 after which Mudras approached Keni to pay the amount.
