In a tragic incident near the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, a bus carrying 55 passengers from Kishtwar to Jammu met with a devastating accident. The bus veered off the road and plummeted approximately 200 meters down a steep slope near Trungal in the Assar area, resulting in the loss of 38 lives.
Local authorities, including the police and rescue teams, swiftly responded to the scene to conduct rescue operations and assess the full extent of the tragedy. A police officer at the control room shared, “A passenger bus, en route from Kishtwar to Jammu, veered off the roads and fell down 200 meters on another road near Trungal in the Assar area of Doda district. Ten passengers are confirmed dead, and the toll is expected to increase.”
Immediate medical attention was provided to the injured, who were promptly transported to nearby health facilities. SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom, later confirmed the news that 38 people have lost their lives in this tragic incident.
