MARGAO: Abdul Rauff, 57, a resident of Gogol Housing Board, Margao, who was arrested for the attempted murder of his wife with a blunt object, was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First class (JMFC)Margao, and was remanded for four days’ police custody.
His wife Nassim Bi, aged 51, has been admitted to the Goa Medical College (GMC ) Bambolim for treatment of her head injuries, and her condition is improving, said police sources.
It may be recalled that the alleged accused had tried to escape from the house on a scooter, after violently assaulting his wife in the wee hours of Wednesday. However, locals managed to detain him and he was handed over to the Fatorda police.
